Long-distance moves are always a binding flat rate. Either way, Hank gives you the number in writing before move day, so the price you see is the price you pay.

A $149 deposit holds your date and is applied straight to your total, so it’s not an extra charge — it comes off the final bill. If you cancel with reasonable notice we’ll work with you on it; the specifics are in our Terms of Service. The deposit mainly keeps your spot on the calendar, which matters in winter and hurricane season when we book up.

For local moves: the truck, the crew, fuel, moving pads, dollies, shrink wrap, and basic furniture disassembly and reassembly. For long-distance: the dedicated truck, the drive, and loading and unloading. Packing materials and full packing labor are quoted separately (full-pack from $480). Specialty items like a piano or a safe are from $399. Nothing gets added on move day that wasn’t in your written estimate.

Yes. Our crew handles full-service packing from $480 — we bring the boxes, paper, and tape and wrap everything ourselves, labeled by room. Salt air and humidity are hard on belongings down here, so we pack tight and protect anything that corrodes or warps. If you’d rather pack the everyday stuff yourself and have us handle just the kitchen, art, and fragiles, partial packing works too.

We load your goods onto our own dedicated truck and our crew drives it — no shared loads, no transferring your things onto another company’s trailer somewhere up the highway. That’s the whole point of how we run it: the same Coast to Coast people load in Key West and unload at the destination, whether that’s up US-1 to the mainland or genuinely coast to coast. Binding flat-rate quotes start at $2,650.

Carefully and with a plan. Key West to Florida City is about 113 miles on a single highway with 42 bridges, including the Seven Mile, so we time departures and load the truck for weight and access along the whole route. In Old Town we’re used to conch houses with no driveway and one-way lanes a box truck barely fits — we’ll shuttle with a smaller vehicle when we have to. None of this is new to us; it’s the move we do every day.

We carry up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment, and we’re bonded and insured. Your move includes released-value protection at the standard $0.60 per pound at no extra cost, and you can upgrade to full-value protection if you’d like belongings covered at replacement value. Yes. We hold US DOT and MC authority for interstate moves, and a Florida intrastate mover registration with the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services — the FDACS IM# / No-Mover-Fraud registration — for moves within the state. We keep all of it current, and we’re bonded and insured. Ask and we’ll share the numbers.

No — we are not a broker or a matching service. Yes, Coast to Coast Moving & Storage is a fully licensed and insured moving and storage company based in Key West, FL, with our own six trucks, our own uniformed crews, and our own storage warehouse on Stock Island. We run the trucks ourselves and store your things in our own building. Nobody else touches your move. (The name is about our reach, not about farming work out.)

It’s our own building on Stock Island — climate-controlled and hurricane-rated, the same warehouse our crews work out of. Storage runs from $79/month per vault. Climate control matters here because of the heat and humidity, and hurricane-rated construction matters from June to November. Because it’s ours, the same people who move you also handle your stored goods; nothing gets sent to an off-island facility.

Yes, and it’s a big part of what we do from June through November. We watch the forecasts and stay flexible on timing — if a system is tracking toward the Keys, we’ll talk through whether to move your date or get your things into the hurricane-rated warehouse early. A lot of seasonal and second-home owners store with us specifically to ride out the season without worrying about the house.

The sooner the better, especially November through April when the Keys fill up and during hurricane season when storage demand spikes. For a local move, a couple of weeks of notice is usually comfortable; for a long-distance or cross-country haul on our dedicated truck, give us three to four weeks if you can.
